I love following the 3YO division, and in particular, the races that lead to the Kentucky Derby.

As usual, I’m just as interested in understanding the prep races — each with particular nuances – as I am with predicting the eventual Derby winner. I’m also interested in the race from an owner’s and trainer’s point of view — how to qualify and get in the gate at Churchill in May — and I pay special attention to the quirks and strategies of the qualifying schedule.
